Jane has had a camera in her hand since the age of six, when she watched her sister’s wedding photographer with intrigue. After leaving art school, she worked briefly as an exhibitions officer for the government and photography became a large part of the job. She left and started her own business in 1986 to allow her to work around her family.

Jane is secretary for the Western Region of the British Institute of Professional Photographers and a National Representative on their Members Services Advisory Board. She has won numerous national awards in the British Photography Awards and is also an associate of the Royal Photographic Society.

Her studio in Ilfracombe is housed in what was previously the Victorian Royal Clarence Hotel. A beautiful building steeped in history. In recent years her brother in law, Neil, has occupied the remainder of the ground floor as Perrin Photo and Print, specialising in photo processing and retail.
